Welcome
Thank you for visiting my personal site.

You are probably here because I pitched and appeared in a news article about post-mastectomy pain syndrome or PMPS. I did this to inform and empower others. I hope we (it takes a village!) were successful.
The process took about eight months from conception to publication. Initially, I did outreach to find others who had post-mastectomy complications more broadly and were willing to share their stories on the record. Ultimately, there were six of us.
Once a few agreed to be part of this project, giving it weight and credibility, I began contacting journalists. Many rejections later, a major publication was interested. When they told me, I cried. I cannot overstate how meaningful and validating it was that they thought our experiences newsworthy and that we could reach others on a large scale.
They said that narrowing a story's focus can make it stronger. Since four of us had PMPS, the story became about that.
My work is not done. There are many more complications that we are not being adequately informed of or treated for. You can read about these and other article ideas in Pitches.

My goal is to tell untold stories and tell them well. If possible, I would love for at least one to be published in or by October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

If you are interested, please contact me. I cannot wait to hear from you and, together, to inform and empower others.
